After a long long hiatus I am here. Being a painter, that too a woman I thought I should come back to being active with a painting of a woman on March 8th Woman's day.
Made with acrylic colours on hand made paper, this painting is dedicated to all the women and is a celebration of being a woman!
I strongly feel that women have now come out successfully in all fields of life and more and more women are coming to the forefront of all sectors. With this painting I salute all the great women out there who have touched the pinnacles of success like Kalpana Chawla, Angela Merkel, Amrita Shergill and many more...

My venture into Abstract painting
Scenario
I am not the person to do
Abstracts – it was my way of thought for some time. But you know as a firm
believer of the saying If there is a will there is a way I started
out. It was difficult to get the concept right. But when i let my thoughts and
imagination roam free it came out just right. Here is the 3rd one of
my abstract series- The Universe.
Acrylic on Canvas. I feel the colours have come out right this time and certainly loved it. U can call it a picture symbolic of global warming or find other hidden meanings in it. By the way this one is for sale in the unframed format.

My fascination for the sea has become the theme of many of my paintings. I saw a picture of a beach visited by the then Prime Minister Deve Gowda on the daily Malayala Manorama and just could not resist painting it.I do not exactly remember the name of the beach. It was a rocky beach where the high tide has ebbed with the breeze blowing hard. As usual there were the coconut palms in the background and the sandy beach. Now it has been framed and hangs in one of the rooms of my flat.Just check out this painting called "The Shallow Beach".And many thanks to Ex. Prime Minister Deve Gowda for bringing this wonder of nature to my notice.

So folks from the raging seas to the rocky mountains- It has been quite a journey. For a long time I did not paint again. I was down with chicken pox and just didn't get the right mood to do it. After a long gap I started doing some fabric painting from lessons I learnt from the TV, asking neighbours etc. So now I had some leftover fabric paints. and the problem with them is they dry too fast. I decided to do a painting on cloth canvas. And is the result is for you to see.
The Blue skies, the mountains with a green carpet the dried up creek, the bushes - Nature at its very best!
